Access Tableau Server While Off Campus

KB06000699 83 Views Updated 19-Aug-2024

When accessing Tableau Server while off campus, you are required to be logged into the University's virtual private network (cVPN). The cVPN allows you to work as if you are logged onto the campus network. Instructions on how to access the cVPN software (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client) are below:

  1. Log in to cvpn.uchicago.edu.
  2. Enter your CNetID and password. If prompted, complete the two-factor authentication (2FA) process.
  3. Follow the prompts to install the software.
  4. Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and enter your CNetID and password. You will now be connected to the campus network and access your web resources.
  5. Navigate to Tableau Server where you will enter your CNetID and password.

Note: The Tableau Server uses single sign-on to secure the server and application. If you have not already logged into another University web-hosted resource, you may be required to provide your CNetID credentials and validate your identity using 2FA.
