Use AAMS for ADADMIN


If you have ADMIN access, you may use the Account Administration Management System (AAMS)  tool to view and change Active Directory (AD) attributes.

  1. To access AAMS, go to aams.uchicago.edu and enter your CNetID and password.
  2. Authenticate using two-factor authentication (2FA) if required.
  3. Make sure that ADADMIN is selected in the drop-down list at the bottom of the page.
  4. Select Lookup Account Information.
  5. Enter the person's CNetID in the CNetID field and select Submit.
  6. Select the person's name to view their account.
  7. Select the Actions tab to see the AD attributes.

  8. To change an AD attribute, enter the appropriate value in the field and select Modify attributes box. The attributes you can change are:
    profilePath - the location of the person's roaming profile directory
    scriptPath - the location of the person's logon script
    homeDirectory - the full path of the new home directory
    homeDrive - the drive letter for the person's home drive
  9. The AD and CNetID passwords should now be synchronized. However, if you need to synchronize a person's AD password with their CNetID password, then select Synchronize password to AD.
