An CNetID email alias is a great way to create an additional UChicago email address for yourself. For example, your email address might be sunnychump@uchicago.edu, but you want to use your first name instead, such as sunny@uchicago.edu, or you may choose a playful email alias, like thechump@uchicago.edu.
You can also think of an alias email as an email forwarding service. Any messages sent to your email alias will be delivered directly to your cnetid@uchicago.edu mailbox.
Note: It is against the Policy on Information Technology Use and Access to create email aliases associated with other members of the UChicago community without permission or without an approved business purpose.
This video will show you how to add, change and delete an email alias, if you would like to watch a brief tutorial about the CNetID email aliases.

Tip: You cannot use an alias to log on to any systems that require your CNetID.
