If you did not have a CNetID when you were a student, you should start by creating your CNetID and password at the CNetID website. Contact the UChicago Alumni team at alumni@uchicago.edu or 800.955.0065 to get your ChicagoID, which you will use along with your birthdate to identify yourself in the claims process. While creating your CNetID, you will set up the address to which you'd like your UChicago email to forward, create your password or passphrase, and set up a question-answer pair to help with password recovery.
You can change the address for your forwarding using the Mail Forwarding option from the MyAccount website.
If you forgot your CNetID password, contact the Alumni Association or visit the Booth ID and Password Changes website.
If you would like to stop forwarding email from your alumni forwarding account, contact the Alumni Office at alumnitechsupport@uchicago.edu to cancel the service.
Alumni who claimed their alumni services when their alumni address was username@alumni.uchicago.edu may control their email forwarding without having a CNetID. However, alumni are now also eligible for CNetIDs. CNetIDs provide several additional services to alumni: campus wireless access, control of a CNetID@uchicago.edu email address, and access to services available on the Alumni Association website.
When you claim your CNetID, your username@alumni.uchicago.edu address will automatically forward to the address that you select as the destination for your CNetID@uchicago.edu mail. If you change where your UChicago email forwards, your username@alumni.uchicago.edu address will update to forward to the new address as well.
