Academic Technology Solutions (ATS) maintains two computer classrooms that are ideal for classroom or lab sessions, training activities, and online exam practice. A standard suite of software is available in the classrooms throughout the year, including Microsoft 365, SSH (Secure Shell), SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) clients, statistical analysis packages, and department-sponsored academic applications.
To reserve a computer room, contact the Office of the University Registrar at registrarrooms@lists.uchicago.edu or go to rooms.uchicago.edu, select Events, then select Event Request.
For information about the software in these classrooms, see vLab & Classroom Software.
If you have specific software requirements for your session, please contact ATS at academictech@uchicago.edu or call 773.834.4499. Please make sure to reach out to us at least two weeks before your session date so that the computer room can be set up accordingly. Failure to do so will cause delays if specific computer software that is not already installed is needed.
The Biological Sciences Learning Center (924 E. 57th Street) houses a computer classroom referred to as BSLC018. It is available to academic classes in need of hands-on computer access.
This computer classroom is located on the 3rd floor of Walker Museum located at 1115-25 E. 58th Street and is connected to Rosenwald Hall (1101-11 E. 58th Street). It is available for academic classes and where hands-on computer access is needed. On occasion, it is available to other UChicago groups for a fee.
