If you have lost your UChicago Card, you may email lostcard@uchicago.edu or stop by the ID & Privileges Office (IPO) (ipo.uchicago.edu) during business hours to have it deactivated. Please check IPO for office hours information.
Note: A deactivated card can be reactivated at any time until a replacement is issued. Once the replacement card is issued, a deactivated card remains permanently disabled.
UChicago Cards are issued at the ID & Privileges Office. The cost of a replacement UChicago Card is $20.00. IPO accepts checks, and Visa or Mastercard. Students also have the option of having the charge billed to their student account with the Office of the Bursar.
Buildings: Access that has already been established to other buildings on campus is linked to your new card overnight. Contact your department or building manager if you need to use your new card immediately.
Housing: Access to student housing is linked to your new card within 30 minutes. Contact the front desk at your dorm if you use your card to access your room or if need to use your new card immediately.
Library: Your library card and library access are updated by the IPO staff as your new card is printed.
Meal plans and Maroon Dollars: These are linked to your new card within 30 minutes. Contact dining@uchicago.edu or 1.855.862.3463 (1.855.UOC.DINE) if you need to use your new card immediately.
Printing: Your Unified Printing account will be linked to your new card within 30 minutes. Contact a support associate at 773.834.0038 if you need to use your new card immediately.
Please report the theft of your UChicago Card to the University of Chicago Police Department by dialing 773.702.8181, or 123 from campus phones. Police reports can be filed at 6054 S. Drexel Avenue. IPO will replace a stolen UChicago Card at no charge if you can supply the number from the police report.
