Yes, a temporary affiliation in Campus Card can be selected for such needs as a Housing babysitter or an Astronomy Club member. After the CCI rep sets up your record, and you receive your photo Campus Card, that ISO# and RFID on the card can be used by the appropriate application (such as building access). If your card is lost or stolen, contact the IPO or call 773.702.3344 immediately so that your card can be deactivated for your protection; once deactivated, it must be replaced. The Campus Card Interface (CCI) is a web-based application that allows an account to be entered or maintained in the University's Master Constituency Database (MCDB) so that services can be tracked.
The Master Constituency DataBase (MCDB) is the UChicago central person registry.
The ID & Privileges Office (IPO) creates most Campus Card accounts. Departments that anticipate a consistently high volume of Campus Card requests may request Campus Card admin training at campuscard@lists.uchicago.edu.

Immediately. Records are entered directly into the MCDB from the CCI, so the IPO staff can call up that record and create the card right away.
Note: There can be a delay after someone claims their CNetID. The CNetID success screen notes that some applications, such as Canvas, may have a two-hour delay. But there is not a delay after creation of the Campus Card record.
No. You can find the alum's CNetID in CCI.
