To keep the UChicago campus community informed and updated, IT Services provides status updates when services experience an outage or serious performance problem. Status updates come in the form of initial notifications, progress updates, and restoration notifications.
You can subscribe to receive updates by email or SMS text message to your cell phone (and later unsubscribe if desired). You can also view the current system status by visiting the IT Services request portal and selecting System Status from the upper navigation bar, or by going to the IT Status Announcements (it-status.uchicago.edu/) page directly.
Note: SMS text message subscribers will only receive updates at the beginning and end of a service disruption. Email subscribers will also receive updates during a disruption if any are sent. Email updates to uchicago.edu email addresses may be delayed if there is a campus email or network outage. If campus email is unavailable during an outage, please refer to the IT Services Self-Service Portal, the IT Status Announcements page, or subscribe to text alerts.
Note: You will not be asked for your CNetID, password, or any personal information. If you receive an alert containing a link asking for a login or identifying information, it's a phishing scam and should be ignored.
To unsubscribe from all SMS text updates, simply respond to any SMS text update with the word STOP.
