Extension Mobility is a feature that allows you to receive and make phone calls with your campus extension number on a different Cisco VoIP phone on campus. It is especially useful to staff who work in different offices on different days of the week.
Extension Mobility Login
Alert! Do not create a conflict. The phone you use for Extension Mobility cannot be in Extension Mobility mode at another phone by someone else.
- Go to the phone where you wish to use your phone number(s).
- Press the Services button. Look for the option titled Extension Mobility.

- Enter the number next to Extension Mobility using the keypad, or use the direction pad and select Extension Mobility.
- Enter your UserID. The UserIDis either your CNetID or UCHADID.
When you press a numeric key on the keypad, a text bubble shows all the characters that this key controls. Each press moves to another character option. Press << to go back to correct a mistake.
- Enter the numeric Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN is 12345 at your first login.
- Press Submit.
- Press Exit.
- Wait for the phone to switch to your phone number(s).
Extension Mobility Logout
Note: Before leaving the phone, remember to press Exit to leave the Extension Mobility settings.
- Press the Service button.

- Enter the phone number to the right on the keypad or scroll down to select Extension Mobility.
- At the logout prompt, press the Yes button.
- Press the Exit button.
- Wait for the phone to switch back to the previous number(s).
To Change Your Extension Mobility PIN
- Visit the myPhone (myphone.uchicago.edu) website.
- Select Go to My Phone.
- Log in with your CNetID/UCHADID and password. Complete two-factor authentication if prompted.
- Select User Options > User Settings.
- For Current PIN, type 12345.
- For New PIN, create a new PIN. Confirm PIN.
- Select Save.
