Most of the University of Chicago and UChicago Medicine instructors, participants, and staff who need to set up a Zoom account can claim one automatically at the Zoom Web Conferencing website. There are some known exceptions to this claiming process, but staff is available to handle these exceptions in a timely manner. If you have previously requested and received a Zoom account, no action is required.

The UChicago Medicine Zoom Agreement certifies that patient and practitioner Personal Health Information (PHI) data are adequately protected. To protect PHI, faculty, and staff who work within UChicago Medicine must use a PHI-compliant Zoom instance. Any changes to the UChicago Medicine Zoom environment require approval from the UChicago Medicine Chief Information Security & Privacy Officer and the Office of Legal Counsel.

The uchicago.zoom.us and uchicagomedicinegroup.zoom.us Zoom URLs are PHI compliant.
