Beginning in FY 2021, ServiceNow licensing is included in IT Allocation costs, so there are no additional costs for University units to use ServiceNow.
Note: For future fiscal years, cuts to the IT Allocation may require IT Services to reduce or eliminate services or activate chargeback for items formerly part of the IT Allocation, such as ServiceNow licenses.
A basic ServiceNow setup includes:
- Basic intake form (Requestor, Short Description, Description)
- One assignment group
- Five businesses services/categories or less (primarily used for reporting purposes)
- Training. Training is available at no cost, at this time, but is dependent on the team's ability to allocate training. Depending on the application you utilize and based on your needs, training will be delivered by a group outside of the IT Services ServiceNow team.
If you are requesting anything more than basic setup as listed above, there are costs associated with the IT Services ServiceNow team and/or a ServiceNow partner.
- ServiceNow Partners are vendors who specialize in ServiceNow development and have assisted in large implementation. Primarily these implementations have been in the $100,000 plus range with an hourly rate being between $170-$240.
- All requests need to go before a ServiceNow Governance committee for review, approval, and prioritization. Requests that require more than 40 hours of work must go the full governance committee, and other requests will go through a lower-level committee for review, approval, and prioritization.
