Overleaf LaTex Editor


Overleaf is a collaborative cloud-based LaTeX editor used for writing, editing, and publishing scientific documents. It partners with a wide range of scientific publishers to provide official journal LaTeX templates and direct submission links.

Note: Members of the CASE Affiliation (Consortium for Advanced Science and Engineering-Affiliate) are no longer eligible to access our Overleaf license.

Eligibility

The University of Chicago currently offers access to Overleaf at no charge to all users with a CNetID or UCHADID. University students, faculty, and staff have access to the Overleaf Premium account.

Access to Overleaf

You can log in to Overleaf at overleaf.com/edu/uchicago. To access your account, you must register first. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to overleaf.com/edu/uchicago.
  2. From the ribbon, select Register.

  3. From the Register dialog-box, select Log in through your institution link.

  4. Enter your Uchicago email address and password.

  5. You will then be redirected to complete two-factor authentication.
  6. You should now be logged into the University's Overleaf account and can start creating your first project.
