The following instructions show you how to install the Cisco AnyConnect Client on Windows 10 and connect to the University of Chicago virtual private network (cVPN).
- Launch a web browser then go to cvpn.uchicago.edu.
- When prompted, enter your CNetID and password. Verify your identity using two-factor authentication (2FA) if prompted. This will allow you to access the cVPN or access the software from cvpn.uchicago.edu. You can sign up for 2FA at 2fa.uchicago.edu.
Please choose an authentication method:
- Duo Push (recommended).
- Call me.
- Passcode
Tip: Select the checkbox next to Remember me for 30 days.
- After you log in, select Continue.
- The Mobility Client Download will appear. Select Download for Windows to download the app. A link to the installer app will appear at the bottom of your browser window.
- Select the installer app link to to begin the installation process, or select Show all to locate the file.
- Select Next on the welcome screen.
- Select Install.
- You may see this User Access Control Warning, select Yes to continue with the installation.
- Select Finish to complete the installation.
- From the Start Menu, select the Cisco AnyConnect app.
- Enter cvpn.uchicago.edu in the Ready to Connect window, then select Connect.
- Again, you will be prompted to log in with your CNetID and password, then select OK. You may get prompted for an additional two-factor authentication login. Please select the method for the second verification process. Please choose an authentication method:
- Duo Push (recommended).
- Call me.
- Passcode
- At the welcome window, read the Acceptable Use Policy, then select Accept to continue.
- A notification will appear when connected successfully.
The AnyConnect application icon will be visible in the system tray in the lower right-hand corner. - To disconnect from cVPN, open the AnyConnect application by selecting the AnyConnect icon, then select Disconnect.
