Purchase not required. Create AutoDesk account, using your @uchicago.edu email address

Box

Box is a cloud-based storage service that provides unlimited free, online space for storing or sharing files.

BSD users with questions about using UChicago Box should email security@bsd.uchicago.edu.

All current faculty, students, and staff are eligible, including faculty and staff in the Biological Sciences Division (BSD).

To access the Microsoft 365 suite, visit https://portal.office.com and log in with your CNetID and password.

At no cost, you may install Microsoft 365 on computers owned by the University, or UChicago Medicine, and on work-at-home computers.

Microsoft Visio and Project

Faculty and staff can access the web version for free from the  Microsoft 365 portal.

To access the Microsoft 365 suite, visit  https://portal.office.com and log in with your CNetID and password.

Overleaf LaTeX Editor

Overleaf is a collaborative cloud-based LaTeX editor used for writing, editing, and publishing scientific documents. It partners with a wide range of scientific publishers to provide official journal LaTeX templates and direct submission links.

Overleaf Professional features include real-time track changes, unlimited collaborators, and full document history.

The University of Chicago is providing Overleaf Professional features for all students, faculty and staff who would like to use a collaborative, online LaTeX editor for their projects.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is a cloud-based survey platform.

The University of Chicago currently offers access to Qualtrics to users with a current CNetID or UCHADID for no charge.

REDCap

REDCap is a secure, web-based solution that is designed to support data collection strategies for research studies. Its free use is offered by the Center for Research Informatics (CRI). 

If you need further help at this point, email REDCap Support at redcap@rt.cri.uchicago.edu to set up a working session with the CRI’s REDCap Administrator.

You can then log in to REDCap with either your BSDAD or UCHAD account and explore the Help&FAQ page for additional help within the application itself.

Zoom

Zoom is the University of Chicago's audio, web, and video conferencing platform.

Zoom is offered to faculty, students, and staff as an innovative conferencing solution to bring participants from different locations together.
