Purpose

The Journal Transactions report displays transactional information for Chart of Account (COA) strings, purchase order information, and invoice number details.

Terminology

· Accounting Period: Any timeframe used for financial reporting. Transactions that fall within a given date range form part of the statements or reports for that accounting period, which is often 12 months.

Business Questions

· What is the accounting date for a transaction?

· Utilize the filters to narrow the table to a specified transaction.

· View the Accounting Date column.

· What is the journal name for a transaction?

· Utilize the filters to narrow the table to a specified transaction.

· View the ‘Journal Name’ column.

· What is the journal batch for a transaction?

· Utilize the filters to narrow the table to a specified transaction.

· View the ‘Journal Batch’ column.

· What were the costs for journal categories?

· Utilize the ‘Journal Category’ filter to narrow the table to a specified journal category.

· View the ‘Journal Total Accounted Debit’ and ‘Journal Total Accounted Credit’ column

· What are the Posting details for a transaction?

· Utilize the filters to narrow the table to a specified transaction.

· View the ‘Posted Date’ and ‘Posting Status Description’ columns.

· What is the completion status for a Journal?

· Utilize the filters to narrow the table to a specified journal.
