There are two ways to record a video in Panopto: using the Panopto Recorder (a separate app that you must install on your machine) or Panopto Capture (which records directly from your browser).

Record with the Panopto Recorder

To record with the Panopto Recorder:

1. Download and install the Recorder for Windows or for Mac.
2. Follow the steps in the article How to Record with Panopto for Windows or How to Record with Panopto for Mac.

Record with Panopto Capture

To record with Panopto Capture from your browser, please see Panopto's documentation on how to record with Panopto Capture.

Re-Process Your Video to Correct Errors

If you encounter errors in your video, such as audio lag or image distortion after processing is complete, you can re-process the video. This may correct the errors. Please note that you should only re-process the video if you have not yet made changes to your video, such as making edits or adding closed captioning. These changes will be undone by re-processing.

1. Mouse over your video to make a menu appear and choose Settings.
2. In the left-hand menu, select the Manage tab.
3. Scroll down and select the Re-process link to re-process your video.
