Purpose
This document provides monthly-paid workers directions on how to submit a Monthly Time Off Confirmation in Workday.

- This process is intended for monthly exempt workers only.
- Exempt employees must report all absences taken in the month or confirm that no absences were taken using Monthly Time Off Confirmation.
- Prior to completing the Monthly Time Off Confirmation, all absences for the month in question must be entered in the calendar.
- Only full-day absences should be reported for exempt employees.
Steps
- Log into Workday using your CNetID and password.
- Select Menu in the top-left corner and choose the Request Absence application located under the Personal category.
- A monthly calendar will display with two tabs along the top: Calendar and Date Range. On the Calendar tab review and confirm that all time off requests have been entered into the calendar.
- Approved requests are indicated by a green circle around the date and pending requests (submitted but awaiting approval) are indicated by a dotted circle around the date.
- If not all time off requests have been entered, see the Requesting and Canceling Time Off in Workday Knowledge Base Article for further instructions on how to request time off.
- Select the last day of the month and choose Continue.
- The Request Absence dialog box will appear.
- Use the Hamburger Menu (the icon with 3 dots and 3 dashes) to the right of the Type of Absence field and select Monthly Time Off Confirmation.
- Review the Instructional Information.
- For the Reason, use the Hamburger Menu to choose Select this to confirm all time off requests have been submitted for this month.
- Hours (Daily) auto-fills to 1.
- Note: Every monthly user will receive a daily quantity of 1 for their Monthly Time Off Confirmation. The Daily Quantity is just an indicator that the task is being completed and will not deduct from accruals. Do not change this value.
- Utilize the Comment box to provide relevant details about the request (do not include personal or sensitive information). To add notes for the Time Approver, expand the Additional Information section and enter details in the Comment to Approver box.
- Select Submit Request to route the request to your Time Approver.
