Purpose

- Answer business questions using the Account Balance Report in the Financial Services Dashboard in Oracle
Terminology
- Accounting Period Name: The timeframe in which a transaction occurs or during which financial information is presented in a report.
Business Questions
- What was the beginning balance for the accounting period?
- Utilize the Accounting Period Start Date and Accounting Period End date filters to narrow the table to a specified accounting period
- View the Beginning Balance column in the table
- What was the ending balance for the accounting period?
- Utilize the Accounting Period Start Date and Accounting Period End date filters to narrow the table to a specified accounting period
- View the Ending Balance column in the table
- Which accounting period had the lowest ending balance?
- Navigate to the Ending Balance column in the table and click the upward facing arrow
- Confirm the arrow is blue
- View the first row in the table as it will be the accounting period with the lowest ending balance
- The table is sorted ascending
- What information do I have per fund?
- Utilize the Fund filter to narrow the filter to a specified fund
- View the table
- What is the comparison between the period net activity credits and debits?
- Utilize the filters to narrow the search to a specified accounting period
- View the Period Net activity Credit and the Period Net Activity Debit columns in the table
