Purpose

The following guide is intended for employees who are looking to view or complete any of the following actions:

· Answer business questions using the Fund Balance Review with Expenses in Orbit

Terminology

· Expense FYTD: B7000 Roll up of expense accounts

· Revenue FYTD: B5000 Roll up of revenue accounts

· Transfer FYTD: D9500 Roll Up of transfer accounts

· Starting Fund Balance: Account balance in account 49000

· Over Allowance: Custom Column Derived by the cost studies team, that looks at the absolute value of the fund balance in relation to the 60-day WC. If the 60-day WC is greater than the fund balance, the over allowance is zero.

· Starting Fund Balance: Balance of the fund in account 49000, net assets account. This value has a starting value assigned to the specific recharge organization, then every year an entry is made in the 99999-organization due to due from to carry forward activity from prior years. The SUM of the amount in the recharge organization and the 99999 organization

· 60 Day WC: The 60-day working capital represents the FYTD expenses over the number of periods passed (for example February is the 8th period of the fiscal year so in February the denominator is 8) then multiplied by 2 to get the 60 day (2 months) working capital.

· What is my fund balance as of today?

· Navigate to the fund filter and input the fund you are looking for

· View the table to see fund balance

· Click drill to see account level breakdown of fund balance

· What was my fund balance in prior fiscal years? Activity breakdown?

· Navigate to the filter for fiscal year, input a prior year

· Ensure 60-day WC filter is set to 12 to get end of year 60-day WC value

· Can I see all recharge funds, or a specific roll up of funds?

· Navigate to the filter for fund and input C34600 (example)

· View the report for this group of funds

· Funds balances by organization?

· Navigate to the filter for Organization, and input an organization you are interested in seeing

· View the report for funds tied to this specific organization.
