Eligible

The following categories of University employees and affiliates are currently eligible for Claude Enterprise, with some further restrictions noted below:

• Full-time University employees
• Part-time University employees who are benefits-eligible
• Emeritus faculty
• Postdoctoral Fellows and Scholars
• Senior and Distinguished Fellows
• Clinical Associates

We do not anticipate granting exceptions to the eligibility criteria above at this stage.

 

Students will become eligible prior to the beginning of the Autumn Quarter 2026.

Students will be eligible to claim a Claude Enterprise account if they are reflected as active in the Academic Information System (AIS) for the current academic quarter, as determined by the Office of the University Registrar.

Students not reflected as active in AIS for the current academic quarter — including those on a leave of absence, who have graduated, or whose enrollment has been withdrawn — will not eligible. If your status does not show as Active, contact your advisor or the Registrar about term activation. IT Services cannot change enrollment status.

 

Not Eligible

• Part-time University employees who are not benefits-eligible
• Lab School faculty, students and staff
• Temporary employees with a "t-9" email address
• Contingent employees with a UChicago email address
• Affiliates
• Argonne and Fermi employees with part-time appointments
• Hong Kong campus faculty, students and staff
• Medical Fellows and Residents

If you believe that you are eligible but are having difficulty gaining access to the tools, please contact claude-feedback@uchicago.edu. If you are currently ineligible but would like to make a case for access, we encourage you to contact your leadership and have them submit an exception request with a valid business justification using the Claude Enterprise Support Request form.
