Keep in Mind

· Veteran status identification is entirely voluntary. The information you submit will be kept confidential (except when accommodations and/or emergency treatment are necessary; in that case, supervisors, managers, and/or safety personnel may be informed), and you will not be penalized for any option you select.

· You may change your veteran status identification at any time.

· If applicable, it may be helpful to verify the date of your most recent military discharge, any campaign badges or medals, and/or any service-related disability information before changing your identification.

Steps

1. Log into Workday using your CNET ID and password.

2. In the search box at the top of the screen, type “Change My Veteran Status Identification”, and select the suggested task that appears below the search box.

3. A dialog box will pop up. Ensure that your name is entered in the Worker field and select OK.

4. Read the help text carefully. It explains why the University asks you to complete the form, defines the different types of protected veterans, and states how your information will be treated. This will help you to determine which self-identification option to select.

5. From the dropdown menu, you must indicate your veteran status by choosing one of the following options:

a. I IDENTIFY AS ONE OR MORE OF THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF PROTECTED VETERAN LISTED ABOVE.

i. You may wish to select this option if ANY of the following apply to you:

1. You receive or are entitled to compensation from the Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs.

2. You were discharged or released from active duty in the United States armed forces due to a disability connected with your military service.

3. You were released from active duty in the United States armed forces within the past three years.

4. You have received a campaign badge or a service medal from the United Stated government.

b. I AM NOT A PROTECTED VETERAN.

i. You may wish to choose this alternative if you have never served in the United States armed forces OR if you have served in the United States armed forces, but do not fit in any of the categories of protected veterans defined in the form.

c. I DO NOT WISH TO SELF-IDENTIFY.

i. You may wish to select this option if you prefer not to disclose your veteran status or lack thereof.

6. Once you have chosen your veteran status, select Submit.
