It's important to understand the differences and relationship between the sequence code and transaction code on a payroll distribution.
The Payroll Sequence Code identifies classes of PAR transactions (NOT FAS transactions). The current documented values are: 60=accrual, 65=expense transfer, 70=cancellation, 75=overpayment, 80=hand-drawn check, 85=current payroll.
The Payroll Transaction Code shows the type of transaction for the sequence code. For example, it could be the type of current payroll (sequence code 85) or what an expense transfer (sequence code 65) is modifying/correcting (i.e., the previous or original sequence code or transaction code that is being modified).
