Set Auto Removal of Closed Accounts in Grouper


The closure of a user's account does not automatically remove them from a Grouper group. Therefore, groups may contain users who have left the University. You should enable the Closure Group Type to have closed accounts removed automatically from your group both for security purposes and general upkeep.

When Closure is enabled, closed accounts will be removed from your group when they reach Closure Day 45, guaranteeing that the individual does not have access. To apply the Closure Group Type:

  1. Log in to grouper.uchicago.edu/.
  2. Go to your group's page in Grouper.
  3. Select Group Actions, then select Set Closure Flag from the drop-down menu. 
  4. Select true on the form screen to turn on the Closure group type or false to turn it off.
  5. Select Submit.
