When you connect your UChicago Box account to Canvas, you'll be able to conveniently share files, while also controlling access. This makes it easy to do things like collaborate on research projects, distribute course content to students, share large files, and support classroom presentations.
Once you've made the connection, you're ready to share. For more information on sharing and collaboration, see the UChicago Box Overview and Box Collaboration Documentation.
Follow these instructions to make the connection to UChicago Box from Canvas.
- Go to your Canvas course.
- If Box is not visible in your Canvas course navigation menu, enable it. See the article How do I manage Course Navigation links?
- Select the Box tab on the course navigation menu and then select Login to Box.

- In the pop-up window, select Use Single-Sign On (SSO) and sign in with your CNetID and password. Complete two-factor authentication if prompted.

- Select Grant access to Box.

- On the security screen, follow the directions and drag the white cloud into the dark cloud. This step ensures the granting of privileges is being performed by a person and not an automated program.

- Your UChicago Box files are now available in Canvas. For more information on sharing and collaborating, see the UChicago Box Overview and Box collaboration documentation.
