This document explains how Time Approvers can enter time on behalf of a worker in Workday.

· When a worker has not submitted any time entries the Time Approver may need to enter worked time on behalf of the worker.
· Recording a lunch period is not needed if the worker has an assigned scheduled that includes a built-in lunch period. Otherwise, two separate time blocks should be entered for a day to represent the unpaid lunch period.
· For workers with multiple jobs, be sure to choose the correct position when entering time on behalf of them.
· The following information is needed to complete this business process:
· Worker name.
· Date of the time entry.
· Start and End time for work period.
1. Log into Workday using your CNetID and password.
2. From the Home page, select Menu located in the top-left corner.
3. Select the Team Time application located under the Team category. Under the Actions column, choose Enter Time for Worker.
4. A new Enter Time for Worker screen will appear.
a. Fill in the Worker field using the Hamburger Menu (icon represented by three dots and three dashes).
b. The Date field will auto-populate with today’s date. Do not change.
c. Select OK.
5. Within the Enter Time screen, select the day requiring time entry.
6. An Enter Time window will appear. Fill in the following:
a. Time Type – Auto-fills to Worked Time.
b. In – Enter the start time of the time entry.
i. Format automatically adjusts to HH:MM AM/PM after number is entered and can be modified if needed.
c. Out – Enter the end time of the time entry.
i. Format automatically adjusts to HH:MM AM/PM after number is entered and can be modified if needed.
d. Out Reason – Select one of the following:
i. Meal to identify the worker checked out for their meal.
ii. Out to signify the end of their work period.
e. Hours – Auto-calculates once In and Out times are entered.
f. Position* – Select the Position requiring time entry.
i. *Field only available when worker has multiple positions.
g. Override Rate – If entered time should be paid at a different rate than normal, input modified rate of pay here.
h. Comment (Optional) – Add any applicable comments related to the time entry.
7. Select OK.
8. Back in the Enter Time screen (containing the timesheet), select the Review button located on the bottom, right side of the page.
9. Review time entry details for accuracy and then select Submit to complete the process. Time entry automatically reflects as Approved after submission.
