REDCap Help Information

WHERE CAN I GET REDCAP HELP? Please visit the CRI REDCap Support site for help resources. Within REDCap, you can also view the extensive Help&FAQ page from the REDCap home page menu bar or the lower-left corner of your project. If you need further help with REDCap functionality, or design guidance on a new project, or an initial consultation, contact the UChicago REDCap Administrator. Please do not use REDCap Messenger to request help as it is not monitored for help requests.

WHAT IS MY LOGIN ACCOUNT? Log in with either your BSDAD or UCHAD account. Enter your account as the username (no need to preface with BSDAD/ or UCHAD/); then enter your account's current password. Do not use your email address as your username. CNetID accounts do not allow access to REDCap.

ARE EXTERNAL ACCOUNTS AVAILABLE? To request accounts for users from external collaborating institutions, fill out the BSDIS Collaborator Account Request Form. These accounts are issued by the BSDIS Help Desk and they can be reached at bsdis@bsd.uchicago.edu or 773-834-4000.

HOW CAN I GRANT PROJECT ACCESS TO ANOTHER USER? If they've never logged in, the user first needs to log into REDCap to set up their profile. You will then be able to grant them access via your project's User Rights page. If they have logged in, but their access is suspended, have them contact the UChicago REDCap Administrator. Also, do not add the user's email address to your project's User Rights page, as this will not grant your user access.

MY ACCESS IS SUSPENDED: If REDCap states your account is suspended upon log in, contact the UChicago REDCap Administrator to have your access unsuspended. Access is auto-suspended after one year of no login activity.

I NEED PASSWORD HELP: Passwords are not stored in or managed by REDCap. To change/reset your password, visit the UCMIT Password Reset Self-Service site. If you need further help, contact the following help desks based on your account type:
